About Callie

My name is Callie Howad and I am a Senior at Cardinal Newman HS. I've been playing softball since I was 7 year old but it wasn't until I turned 12 that I decided to take the sport more seriously. Since then, my dedication has led me to break the school record for strikeouts in a single game, with 18 K's. In addition to playing for my HS team, I also compete at a high level with the SoCal Athletics travel team. 
Recently, all of my hard work paid off when I committed to continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of California, San Diego(UCSD). Softball has been an incredible gift in my life, opening doors and creating opportunities I never thought possible. 
With everything the sport has given me, I'm passionate about giving back to the softball community. For the last 3 years, I've been umpiring games and giving pitching lessons, helping younger athletes grow their skills. I'm also so excited to be getting the chance to get involved with FBK1!!
